ABOUT ME

Born in Brooklyn to a salsa dancing Panamanian mom and motorcycle driving Puerto Rican father, Celia was immediately immersed into a multi-cultural and vibrant world. Her namesake is after the Queen of Salsa, Afro-Cuban singer Celia Cruz. Her middle name after Nelson Mandela.

One representing an enormous passion for performance and storytelling. And the other representing the fight for all to have the right to live a life of dignity and joy. These are the values she carries with her into her artistic expression.

She graduated with a B.A. in Theatre at USC, studied at the British American Drama Academy, and Atlantic Acting School. And competed at the Kennedy Center American Theatre Festival where she was a regional winner in the acting category.

To be an artist is to live. So, when she isn’t acting, Celia works as the Literary Manager at IAMA Theatre Co. As well as, co-runs and co-founded an anti-racist theatre organization for the greater Los Angeles area called BLKLST.

During her down time, she’s likely cuddling with her Doberman Ziza while sipping on a new world pinot noir as her wonderful husband chefs up an incredible meal that looks like it just came out of a foodie magazine.
